Safety Harness Training Course



This course has been designed to benefit not only the person who is using a harness for the first time, but also the persons who have completed a National Certificate of Competency in Boom lift operation over 11mteres or the EWPA -elevated Work Platform under 11 meters.
The course provides proof of training in the correct seletion/use and maintenance of harnesses and associated lanyards and anchor points.
Course Content:
- Basic introduction to height safety
- Selecting and inspecting Harnesses and associated equipment
- Emergency rescue Planning
- Suspension Trauma
Course Outcomes:
The trainee will be able on completion of the course to:
- Identify the components of the fall protection devices associated with harness work
- Inspect the harness and identify faults and or damage
- Fit a harness including correct methods of adjustment
- Understand when and how to use a harness in conjunction with EWP’s
- have the required skills to develop both a SWMS and rescue procedure for working at heights with harnesses
- Understand how to correctly deal with suspension trauma victims
Course Duration:
This course includes both class room discussion and DVD’s together with a practical exercise in the fitting and use of Harnesses in the work place. The course duration is 3 Hours. We offer both on site and off site presentations of this course.
We can provide the training in your workplace using your work areas to demonstrate the correct harness procedures or trainees can attend our modern training facility which includes simulated work place applications at Pakenham.
