6 Day OHS Training course for Managers and Supervisors
Goals:
The goal of the course is to provide managers and supervisors with the knowledge & skills to assist them to fulfil their duties and responsibilities under the OHS Act 2004 & OHS Regulations 2007 and provide a basic understanding of return to work in their workplace
Training Aims:
The training course has been designed to supply basic information & skills required for managers & supervisors to identify hazards, implement control measures and consult with employees to resolve health & safety issues and to assist injured workers to successfully return to work.
The course will also provide managers and supervisors with:
- A basic understanding of the OHS Act 2004, OHS Regulations 2007, and part VI of the Accident Compensation Act 1985.
- Understand their role and legal duties
- Understand the role and assistance other key workplace parties can provide
- Knowledge of where and how to obtain assistance in dealing with hazards & dangerous situations
- An understanding of the role of occupational health & safety in the workplace in the prevention of incidents, injury and illness
Learning outcomes:
At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the legal framework for OHS
- Describe the roles & of the key workplace parties in the OHS Act 2004
- Understand the role & legal duties of Managers & Supervisors
- Managing OHS risk in the workplace
- Manager/Supervisor responsibilities in OHS & RTW issues resolution, consultation & Negotiation.
